This exquisite brooch originates from the George V era of early 20th-century Britain (c.1910s–1930s), representing the transition from the Edwardian to the early Art Deco period.
At its center lies a sovereign-style coin, bearing the inscription “GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP.”—a Latin phrase meaning “George V, by the Grace of God, King of all Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India.”

The reverse depicts St. George slaying the dragon, one of Britain’s most enduring national emblems symbolizing courage, protection, and virtue.

The piece is framed within a double-ring circular structure, accented by small orb connectors that add balance and depth.

Coin brooches like this were known as “Lucky Coin Brooches” in the early 1900s, often gifted or worn for prosperity and protection.
Given its craftsmanship, material integrity, and historical symbolism, this brooch is not merely an accessory—it’s a century-old artifact of royal heritage and early 20th-century artistry.

A true collectible for connoisseurs of antique jewelry and history alike.
